On May 31, 2011, According To A decree Of The Holy See, Qatar Was Detached From the Apostolic Vicariate of Arabia And Included In The Newly-Formed Ecclesiastical Territory Of The Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia. The Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia Is Under The Spiritual Care And Guidance Of His Lordship H E Bishop Aldo Berardi, O.SS.T. Apostolic Vicar Of Northern Arabia.

EMBRACING THE NAKED CHRIST

May the Lord give Us His peace. My dear brothers and sisters, as we gather today in the shadow of the Cross, we do so not as distant observers of a historical tragedy, but as companions of the impoverished and Crucified Christ. For St. Francis of Assisi, Good Friday represents the ultimate lesson in love. Francis was profoundly moved by the passion of our Lord, famously weeping aloud and exclaiming, "Love is not loved!"

The Poverty of the Cross Today, we witness the King of Kings, stripped of everything.
He is stripped of His garments.
He is stripped of His reputation.
He is stripped of His life.

In our profound poverty, Jesus demonstrates that God does not observe our suffering from afar. Instead, He immerses Himself in it. He becomes "Brother Jesus" to the victim, the outcast, and the forgotten. On the wood of the Cross, the Exalted God becomes the Humble Servant

Let us venerate the Cross. As you approach the Cross today, bring with you the "wounds" of our world: the cries of the poor, the groans of our mother Earth, and the hidden pains of your own heart. Place them at the feet of the One who was wounded for our sake.

"We adore Thee, most holy Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all Thy churches throughout the whole world, and we bless Thee; because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world." — St. Francis of Assisi

Let us remain in the silence of this holy day, keeping watch with Lady Poverty at the foot of the Cross, while we wait in certain hope for the dawn of the Resurrection
